FORM: QUANTIFICATION OF FOSSIL METHANE USING RADIOCARBON

Radiocarbon is an ideal tracer of fossil carbon emissions.

The Project FORM is based on a unique sampling system for radiocarbon analysis of atmospheric methane that I developed at Imperial College London, within an ERC project led by Dr Heather Graven.

The new system will enable high precision radiocarbon measurements of methane, which will be used to quantify fossil emissions.

LABORATORY OF ION BEAM PHYSICS

The Project FORM will be carried out in the laboratory of Ion Beam Physics, ETH.

The laboratory is a worldwide leading group in developing new instrumentation for radiocarbon measurements via Accelerator Mass Spectrometry (AMS).
